| boy on a skateboard is a digital video animation playing on 1.8", 2.5" and 4" lcd monitors. The animation was created from individual images captured from the movie "Dogtown". The installation is a site specific drawing for the exhibition 'Sensorium' at the issue Project Room on the Gowanus Canal at the Carroll Street bridge in Brooklyn, NY. Two concrete cylindrical buildings sit next to the canal in an industrial section of south Brooklyn. The concrete walls of the building are visible in the images. The installation consists of the lcd monitors, dvd players hanging from orange plugs and extension cords, green extension cords, yellow extension cords, electrical outlets and boxes, audio/video cables and transformers. The configuration of wires, extension cords, monitors and dvd players becomes the drawing. |
